Welcome to Applied Arpeggios. I'm going to give you an overview of various sounds we can use on top of a minor chord.

We're doing everything based around D minor, with a low D drone going in the background. We'll start with the D minor 7 arpeggio and then build up arpeggios on top of that.

The first example is to play an F major 7 on top of D minor 7. Let's hear the D minor 7 arpeggio. Now let's hear the F major 7. Slightly different sound.

What we're doing is building a major 7 chord from the flat 3rd in the minor chord. We have D, F, A, C, and we're taking that F and using it to build an F major 7: F, A, C, E.
